Reflecting on the Success of Yoga for NOVA💙

We are excited to share some highlights and feedback from our recent Yoga for NOVA event on Saturday, May 4th.

We were thrilled to welcome 31 participants to our yoga session led by Cynthia Maher from Energizen. Cynthia, a certified Yoga Alliance teacher with 22 years of experience, specializes in therapeutic yoga for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder. Her dedication to creating a space for students to connect with the present moment through their practice was evident throughout the session.

As the event unfolded, our hearts swelled with gratitude for the outpouring of support from our attendees, donors, and sponsors. Together, we achieved a remarkable milestone, raising a record-breaking $1,395! This generosity will enable NOVA West Island to continue its vital mission of providing essential healthcare services to our community.

Last year alone, NOVA provided essential healthcare services to 746 individuals, including

in-home nursing care, bereavement programs, home support services, and senior activity programs. The impact of our collective efforts extends far beyond the yoga mat, touching the lives of caregivers, healthcare professionals, and the broader community.

During the event, we took a moment to recognize Cynthia's incredible dedication and commitment. It's hard to believe that it has been 10 years since our first Yoga for NOVA event in May 2014. Over the years, Cynthia has been instrumental in our success, helping to raise over $12,587 with 207 different participant to support our programs and services. We presented Cynthia with a 10-year volunteering pin as a token of our appreciation for her time, energy, and generosity.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the City of Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue for providing the venue and to Maxi Baie d’Urfé for the light snacks enjoyed by all.

As we continue to build community and support NOVA West Island's vital work, we invite you to join us for future events and initiatives. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Thank you once again to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the Yoga for NOVA event.

We look forward to seeing you at our next gathering.
