ABOUT
NOVA

The delivery of high-quality healthcare has been the cornerstone of the NOVA (formerly VON) nurses' mandate since 1911. At NOVA West Island, experienced, caring, and dedicated professional staff and volunteers work together to improve the quality of life for vulnerable adults, youth and families in 16 municipalities: Baie d'Urfé, Beaconsfield, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Dorval, Île Bizard, Île Perrot, Kirkland, Lachine, Pierrefonds, Pincourt, Pointe-Claire, Roxboro, Senneville, Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Ste-Geneviève and Terrasse-Vaudreuil.

Our mission is to enhance community well-being through no-cost, in-home nursing care for palliative and oncology patients, as well as supportive bereavement programs for children and adults. Additionally we provide, at minimal cost, personalized home-support services and a stimulating senior activity program for adults with neurocognitive impairments.

Last year, our non-profit organization cared for 827 vulnerable people on the West Island of Montreal through one or more of our programs.  This does not include the enormous positive impact we have on caregivers, the public healthcare system and the community at large.

NOVA West Island offers a range of services free of charge or at low cost through the financial support of individuals, foundations, corporations, municipalities, community groups and through Fundraising activities. Our programs include:
