Over the weekend, the LAA Art Exhibition brought together the vibrant creativity of over 40 artists, showcasing a stunning array of more than 250 artworks spanning from Lachine to Hudson. Held at Fritz Farm in Baie-D'Urfé, this highly anticipated event unfolded with a burst of springtime inspiration, featuring diverse media including paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, sculptures, textile art, and mosaics.
The festivities commenced with a memorable vernissage on April 12th, where guests enjoyed an evening of art appreciation in the esteemed company of MPs, mayors, councilors, and special guest Mayor Heidi Ektvedt of Baie-D'Urfé. Despite the cold and cloudy weather, the turnout was remarkable, with attendees immersed in mingling and forging beautiful connections.
Throughout the exhibition on April 13th and 14th, visitors had the opportunity to engage with the artists and explore the rich tapestry of their creations. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as guests discussed and admired the diverse talents on display.
This year's event celebrated artistic expression and served a noble cause. A generous one-third of all sales directly supported NOVA West Island's essential healthcare services, including palliative home nursing care, bereavement programs, personal home support, and the Senior Activity Program.
Thanks to the unwavering support and participation of the community, the exhibition was a resounding success, raising a total of $8,193 for NOVA West Island. This sum, comprising proceeds from raffle ticket sales, direct donations, and artwork purchases, will significantly contribute to advancing their services for the NOVA West Island community.
The organizers extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who attended and contributed to this communal endeavor. Your enthusiasm and generosity ensure the continued success and impact of initiatives like the LAA Art Exhibition. With anticipation, they eagerly look forward to gathering again next year, united in their shared love for art and commitment to community well-being.
